EASB are actively seeking volunteer assistance in the following area for immediate start. This position requires a self-motivated person who can pay close attention to detail and accuracy:
COMPETITIONS DIRECTOR (DESIGNATE) - SNOOKER
EASB is actively seeking a person who can take over the running of snooker competitions within the association. Working to self-imposed deadlines, this is a crucial area of the company's operations and will require a person with both experience and dedication. It is intended to have someone in place in advance of the 2012-13 season.
The current range of competitions run by EASB can involve between 8 and 200 players and are designed to provide qualifying places for international championships run by IBSF, EBSA, and HIBSF, as well as an introduction to national snooker for junior, grass-roots, and minority group players. During the current season we provided nine national snooker championships, and a number of snooker tours for juniors, adults, seniors, and ladies. Billiards is operated as a separate scope which falls under a Director already in place.
The appointed person will inherit a structure of volunteer support personnel, but will be expected to expand upon this if required. This will involve control of an Executive Committee (2 people), Clubs Co-ordinator (1), Website content (2), and Media Officer (1). (See attached structural overview.)
This will ultimately be a Board appointment complying with the requirements of the Companies Act 2006. However, the successful applicant will initially work on a trial basis until such time as the Board agree co-option and registration under the Act. This timescale will be dependant upon results.
As with all appointments is a VOLUNTEER position.
Job Purpose
To direct and oversee a structure providing the delivery of snooker competitions to members, working in liaison with other Directors, principally those covering Referees and Finance.
Duties and Responsibilities
- To review existing competitions and set a new programme of events each season, subsequently monitoring its implementation.
- Ensure that activities related to the staging of competitions are carried out in a co-ordinated and efficient manner.
- Develop and implement policies affecting Player Members, including terms and conditions for entry into competitions.
- Set tournament formats, agree venues and TD appointments.
Skills / Attributes Required
- An established track-record in snooker competition promotion.
- Experience in managing the activities of others.
- Self motivated and enthusiastic.
- A working knowledge of electronic communications.
- An ability to manage and co-ordinate the activities of others.

FINANCE DIRECTOR
Recent changes in management structure mean that we may soon have an opening for FINANCE DIRECTOR and applications are invited from interested parties. This will be a Board appointment complying with the requirements of the Companies Act 2006.
As with all appointments is a VOLUNTEER position.
Job Purpose
To direct and oversee all of the financial activities, to include the preparation of financial reports as required by the Board.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the Board in the preparation of budgets and financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and reports for Government regulatory agencies.
- Contribute to the achievement of the company objectives by providing advice and guidance on financial strategy.
- Oversees all accounting procedures and systems used by the Company.
- Meet with the Board of Directors regularly to keep them informed and to offer direction.
- Review reports and analyse projections of sales and income against actual figures and suggests methods of improving the planning process.
- In conjunction with the Board, assess the long term financial trends and review prospects for future growth of income and new product areas.
- To ensure the Company meets its financial and legal responsibilities.
Skills / Attributes Required
- Recognised Qualification in Accountancy.
- Previous managerial experience would be helpful.

FUNDRAISER/ EVENT ORGANISER
EASB is a progressive and dynamic company which is seeking to expand its role in developing and promoting the games of snooker and billiards in England.
EASB will designate authorised fund-raisers who will implement approved projects, which might be small or large in scale, all levels of contribution being welcome. As a minimum, authorised projects will be publicised on our website, and additional resources, where required, will be provided.
As with all appointments, this will be a VOLUNTEER position.
Job Purpose
We are seeking individuals who can join a team raising operational funding for the association, and specifically donations for an INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL FUND which will give financial assistance to individuals selected to represent England in World and European Championships, contributing to their travel and accommodation costs.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Team members will bring their own ideas for fund raising, working independently, or in groups, with or without additional support from EASB management, as required for each authorised project.
- Authorised fund-raisers will be required to either fully undertake, or supervise, their own projects.
- Also to co-ordinate any supporting activities related to the designated project.
Skills / Attributes Required
- Self motivated, enthusiastic and capable of innovative thinking.
- The ability to work on own initiative and as part of a small team
- Verbal communication skills and ability to relate to people at all levels
- Written communications skills with an eye for detail and accuracy
- Presentation and negotiation skills and understanding of what motivates donors.
